There is nothing in evolutionary theory that says that God didn't instigate the Big Bang
I find it hugely frustrating to see people insist that creationism or it's bastard child - Intelligent Design - are true when anyone with the barest flicker of intelligence can see that the facts that exist at least strongly suggest that all life evolved from other species.
In fact it can only weaken the Christians entire way of life to continue to argue about something so obviously false. Just give it up! Everyone not blinded by bigotry can see that you are wrong!
And they miss a fundamental pointed of putting the date of Creation of Earth and the Universe by God at a biblical six thousand years ago they should put it at 13 or 14 billion years ago at the time of the Big Bang... - and no one could ever argue against it! We still have no idea what caused the Big Bang; it could just as easily have been God as the Huge Flying Spaghetti Monster!
And there can be no argument whatsoever against the following proposition: "What if God created the Universe at the Big Bang and set up the whole of the history of the universe and the creation of our own solar system as a way to create - eventually - us as conscious beings" Instead of a fallacious argument about creationism they should state that God created the Big Bang.....
.... and also did it in such a way as to really annoy physicists!

But if Bush and Blair couldn't have god on side people might think that their foreign policy is evil. Instead it is an inocent cruscade and of course we are on the goodies side. So we will win. Rejoice as maggy once said.
It is a proven fact - not a theory - that as you move further away from something, the light takes longer to reach us. The nearest star is 4.2 light years or so. And the Andromeda Galaxy is many millions of light years away from us.
This brings a key point to bear: that if we were created on the 6th day after the creation of the heavens and the earth then God must have conjoured the entire universe up in its present state and with everything the distances apart that they are now, in an instant. If that is the case and God did it that way, then it should follow that our insignificnat speck of dust of a plant (when compared to the rest of the universe) would be only a tiny part of his care. A god of the whole universe would be taking as much care over the dust that makes up the horsehead nebula as he would of us here on Earth and he would most certainly be as caring about the plants we eat - so should we eat them at all? There is just a whole host of issues with the whole "God made this" approach to things... at the end of the day, it is better to ignore him and try to be the best person you can.
Oh, and don't forget... i'm here till Thursday; try the veal...
P.S. the word verification used for me to post this is Mr Hot - makes you think...
